Friday, Oct. 24

Make a Monster Mask! – Noon to 4 p.m., Trackside Studios, 375 Depot St.

Trackside Studios artist and SFX enthusiast Clay Sayre will lead a mask-making class just in time for Halloween. Attendees will learn about the types of rubber prosthetics, how to sculpt with Monster Clay and make molds to cast their very own wearable piece. Sign up here.

The Haunted Farm – 7-11:30 p.m., 624 Townsend Road

After Hurricane Helene destroyed their woods and canceled their shows last year, The Haunted Farm is back for its 2025 season bigger, better and scarier than ever. While there is no age limit, this is a scary attraction, and no refunds are given for any guests who do not complete the walkthrough. Find tickets here.

Watch “A House of Dynamite” – Now streaming on Netflix

Kathryn Bigelow is back. The filmmaker behind war thrillers like “The Hurt Locker” and “Zero Dark Thirty” and cult action flicks including “Near Dark” and “Point Break” has returned to the director’s chair for “A House of Dynamite,” her first movie in eight years. Saturday, Oct. 25

“From Death to Mourning: Spiritual Journeys of the Wolfe Family” – 5-7 p.m., Thomas Wolfe House, 52 N. Market St.

This weekend, prepare for tales from beyond the grave at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial in downtown Asheville. Guests at the author’s Old Kentucky Home can expect to hear spooky stories of death, spirits and more, just in time for Halloween. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Final admittance to the event will be at 6:45 p.m.

Montford Park Players present “She Kills Monsters” – 7:30 p.m., Hazel Robinson Theatre, 92 Gay St.

The Montford Park Players conclude their 53rd season, “A Season of Lunatics, Lovers, & Poets,” with “She Kills Monsters,” a Qui Nguyen play about sisterhood, grief and “Dungeons & Dragons.” The final performance of the show will be this Saturday in Montford Park. Read our review here.

Halloweenfest 2025 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Brevard, N.C.

Transylvania County will honor its Dracula namesake this weekend with a downtown Halloween celebration. Halloweenfest will feature free, family-friendly fun all day long, including trick-or-treating, a costume contest and parade and a hula hoop dance party.

Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival – Noon to 10 p.m., Pack Square Park

The Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival, a showcase of experimental‬ theater, live music and circus arts, will return to downtown Asheville this weekend with three performance stages, dozens of art vendors and circus acts like aerialists, fire spinners, puppeteers,‬ jugglers, dancers and more.

Sunday, Oct. 26

The Haunted Trail – 6-9 p.m., Adventure Center of Asheville, 85 Expo Drive

The Haunted Trail, a family-friendly Halloween attraction, is open for spooky season. Geared toward kids ages 3 to 12 but defined as an event for anyone “past the pumpkin patch and just not ready for Freddy,” The Haunted Trail brings the Halloween spirit to live theater. This Sunday will be the last opportunity to visit The Haunted Trail this season. Find tickets here.
