New Tropical Storm Helene documentary now streaming

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — “Scars on the Mountain,” a documentary about the impact of Tropical Storm Helene on Burnsville, N.C., made its streaming debut earlier this week. The film is available to watch for free.

The film was directed by Christopher Pike and shot by David Plummer across Yancey County. The 66-minute movie made its debut on the Angel streaming service on Thursday, July 30, where it is available to watch for free. Find the film here.

According to the film website, “Scars on the Mountain” is told “entirely through the voices of survivors” of Tropical Storm Helene, which left a trail of destruction in Western North Carolina in September 2024.
