ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Mission Hospital is set to get a new CEO. HCA North Carolina Division President Greg Lowe told hospital staff in an email that he would be replacing Chad Patrick as head of the facility.

Lowe’s email said the move would allow Mission to streamline its executive structure, provide easier access to HCA Healthcare resources and support and help improve communication between leadership, medical staff and colleagues.

Hospital officials said Patrick is returning to HCA Florida’s Orange Park Hospital, where he will be CEO.

HCA Healthcare Division Public and Media Relations Director Nancy Lindell issued the following statement:

“Mission Hospital CEO Chad Patrick has recently accepted an opportunity to return to lead HCA Florida’s Orange Park Hospital as CEO. Chad previously held this role and he and his family have strong ties to the community there. We thank Chad for his service and wish him the very best as he returns to Florida. Mission Health CEO Greg Lowe will assume the role of CEO of Mission Hospital, in addition to his overall system responsibilities. This change will streamline administrative structure to better support Mission Hospital and facilitate more direct communication between leadership, medical staff and colleagues. This restructuring will be significant in driving action-oriented responses to feedback and providing direct access to the vast resources and support of HCA Healthcare. Greg will be relocating his office to Mission Hospital over the next few weeks, a move that will allow him to spend more time in the halls of the hospital.”

“I can think of no higher honor than leading Mission Hospital into its next chapter. I look forward to serving alongside each and every one of you inside Mission Hospital, across all Mission Health, and within our community. My commitment is to listen, act, and ensure that Mission Health remains a leader in patient outcomes, a preferred employer, and the region’s top choice for advanced healthcare,” Lowe said in the statement.
