ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Later this month, a bake sale, raffle and donation drive will be held to support community nonprofit BeLoved Asheville.

The event, Uplifting Deals Bake Sale and Donation Drive, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at Uplifting Wholesale Warehouse, 128 Bingham Road. Live music and hot food will be available from noon to 4 p.m., while the bake sale and donation collection will be ongoing for the duration of the event.

Uplifting Asheville

The event was organized by Arielle Adams, an online associate at Uplifting Wholesale, as a way to give back to the community they love after the devastation caused last September by Hurricane Helene.

“For almost a year now, I’ve been planning a community event to benefit BeLoved Asheville, timed around the one-year mark of Hurricane Helene. That storm devastated our area, and its impact is still felt today,” wrote Adams in a press release. “I wanted to create a space where we could come together, support one another, and show that no matter where you’re from, we are in this together — and together, we can recover and lift up our community.”

To raise money for the Asheville community, Adams has brought together a large collection of Asheville businesses. Food and bake sale items will be provided by Benny’s Pizza, Pies by Di, Turk Da Jerk, Buddie’s Bakeshop and more, while raffle prizes have been contributed from shops and spots like Shabingo, the Malvern, South Paw, Spotted Banana and others.

Music will be provided by Fairlight and the Magick, a local psychedelic blues band.

What to donate

While 100% of the proceeds from the bake sale and raffle will go to BeLoved, winter clothing and equipment will also be collected for the nonprofit.

Suggested donations include:

  • Warm winter clothing
  • Electric heaters
  • Personal care/hygiene products
  • Hand warmers
  • Socks
  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Blankets
  • Tents
  • Cold-weather sleeping bags

For Adams, the sale is more than just a fundraiser.

“It’s not just about an event — it’s about everyday people stepping up for one another, healing together and lifting up the organizations that make such a difference here in Asheville,” Adams wrote.

Raffle tickets and donations are available here.
