July 4th Events and Fireworks in Asheville and Western North Carolina: 2026 Guide

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Independence Day events across Asheville and Western North Carolina include fireworks shows, parades, live music, community celebrations and history programs tied to America’s 250th anniversary.

Events are scheduled in Asheville, Weaverville, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Brevard, Canton, Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Hot Springs, Marshall, Montreat, Marion, Boone, Cherokee and other mountain communities.

Here’s a look at some of the Fourth of July events and fireworks shows planned across the region.

Fireworks and large celebrations

Independence Day Block Party
South Slope, Asheville
Saturday, July 4, noon-10 p.m. | Free admission

The Independence Day Block Party is scheduled on July 4th in Asheville’s South Slope. The event includes music at Asheville Yards, live entertainment at Banks Avenue and Buxton Avenue, food and marketplace vendors, Dock Dogs, a car show on Coxe Avenue and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration at North Buncombe Fields
North Buncombe Fields, Weaverville
Saturday, July 4, 5 p.m. | Free admission

Buncombe County Parks & Recreation will hold its Independence Day celebration at North Buncombe Fields in Weaverville. The event includes live music from the Fuzzy Peppers and Mission Accomplished, food trucks, face painting and fireworks after dark, around 9:15 p.m.

Parking will be available at North Buncombe High School, 890 Clarks Chapel Road in Weaverville. Fireworks will be launched from the northwest end of North Buncombe Fields.

The county previously held its Independence Day event at Lake Julian Park, but there will be no Independence Day events at Lake Julian Park this year because of access issues related to construction in the area.

Hendersonville 4th of July Celebration + Parade

Hendersonville’s 4th of July Celebration schedule includes a pledge of allegiance, parade, reading of the Declaration of Independence, an ice cream social, Heritage Museum events, live music, an America 250 ceremony and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Hot Springs 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks

Hot Springs is scheduled to hold its Fourth of July celebration and fireworks show on Independence Day. Check the town’s event page for schedule details, viewing information and weather updates.

Freedom on the French Broad
Marshall
Friday, July 3 | Free admission

Freedom on the French Broad is scheduled for July 3 in Marshall. The event includes a ‘Honoring our Heroes’ reading of America’s founding documents on the historic courthouse steps in Downtown Marshall, starting at 3:30 pm. Starting at 4pm, a lineup of music and fireworks is scheduled on Blannahasset Island.

July 4 Plus 1 is a two-day event celebrating Independence Day with activities and community programming.

Backyard Fourth Fireworks

The Asheville Independence Day 5K race starts and ends at Pack Square Park and is capped at 700 participants.

Montreat’s Fourth of July Celebration schedule includes the annual Gait Race 5K, a flag raising, parade, ice cream social, lawn games, afternoon activities, silent auction and Big Circle Mountain Dance.

Waynesville’s Stars & Stripes Celebration

The Heart of Brevard 250 Celebration is part of the area’s Independence Day and America 250 activities. The family-friendly event includes a reading of the Declaration of Independence, car show, bike parade, live music, old time street dance, and fireworks display.
