ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — After previously sharing they would close their doors at the end of 2025, Echo Mountain Recording has announced its echo hasn’t died out after all. The Asheville-based recording company will reopen their Church studio space on Feb. 1, 2026.

Resurrecting a recording studio

According to current Echo Mountain studio manager – and soon-to-be owner – Jessica Tomasin, Echo Mountain has been going through a transitional period for over a year, even before the original closure announcement.

“We started to build a new studio out in Marshall, and then, once the storm happened and things just got really, you know, the whole project was put on hold,” Tomasin said. “Then once we got back to trying to get that off the ground, things had changed for the current owner of the studio, and he was ready to retire.”

While the Marshall studio is not moving forward and the Echo Mountain API studio, previously located at 175 Patton Ave., will remain closed, Echo Mountain will be reopening in their Church studio space, located at 14 N. French Broad Ave.

Check out the Church studio’s gear and specifications here.

Echo Mountain Recording’s Church studio is located at 14 N. French Broad Ave. in downtown Asheville.

The studio’s resurrection means that Echo Mountain will be able to continue its two decade legacy of audio production for the Asheville music community.

“We’re gonna be able to get back to making records with bands both locally and nationally, and we’ve also had some international clients throughout the years,” Tomasin said. “We’re excited to do a series of things like educational workshops and series for the music community. There’s a few other things in the works. We’re still putting the details together, but we’re really excited about it.”

In the meantime, bands and other artists in need of studio time can already reserve the use of the Church studio at www.echomountain.net/contact. Sessions will begin in February.
