ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —

If it’s time to renew your driver’s license, you’ll soon have another option for accomplishing that task.

Walk-in hours are set to resume this weekend at 16 driver’s license offices, including the one on Patton Avenue in Asheville.

North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles officials said these 16 offices — some of the state’s busiest — will be open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from June 8 through Aug. 24 as the agency expands services for the summer season.

Services that will be offered during the Saturday hours include driver’s license or ID cards, renewals or duplicate orders, address changes, REAL ID issuances and road tests for customers who have already completed the knowledge and written tests.

“I continue to be focused on offering more opportunities for customers to receive services both online and during expanded hours,” Commissioner Wayne Goodwin in a news release. “Opening for Saturday hours at many of our busiest locations statewide is what customers want, need and have requested.”

Offices that will be open on Saturdays include:

Andrews – 1440 Main St.
Asheville – 1624 Patton Ave.
Charlotte North – 9711 David Taylor Dr.
Charlotte South – 201 W. Arrowood Rd., Suite H
Fayetteville – 831 Elm St. (Eutaw Village)
Graham – 111 E. Crescent Square
Greensboro – 2391 Coliseum Blvd.
Greenville – 4651 N. Creek Dr.
Huntersville – 12101 Mount Holly-Huntersville Rd.
Jacksonville – 299 Wilmington Hwy.
Monroe – 3122 U.S. Hwy. 74 W.
Raleigh North – 2431 Spring Forest Rd., Suite 101 (Spring Forest Pavilion)
Raleigh West – 3231 Avent Ferry Rd.
Salisbury – US 29 S, 5780 South Main St.
Wilmington – 2390 Carolina Beach Rd., Suite 104 (South Square Plaza)
Winston-Salem – 2001 Silas Creek Pkwy.

Anyone considering a visit to the DMV should first check to determine if they can complete their business online. NCDMV offers many online services, including driver’s license and ID card renewals, ordering duplicate licenses and ID cards, address changes and voter registration applications.
