ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that deputies are investigating a death on Stradley Mountain Road.
Patrol deputies, detectives and crime scene investigators were notified about 9:40 a.m. and are working to identify the person who died and determine the circumstances surrounding the death, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation, working to identify the person and the circumstances,” BCSO District 1 Capt. Dustan Auldredge said. “We don’t have any additional information to share right now. We will provide updates as soon as we have them.”
Auldredge said there is no known threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
