ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A new partnership between two Asheville-based organizations aims to boost rider support and raise awareness for arthritis during two major charity cycling events in 2026.

Fuel Goods, a sports nutrition marketplace founded by Asheville resident and former professional cyclist Laura Jorgensen, has teamed up with the Arthritis Foundation Cycling Experience for the upcoming Carolina Hills Classic and California Coast Classic. The Carolina Hills Classic, now in its second year, begins in Asheville and will be held May 14-17, 2026.

The collaboration is expected to benefit about 350 cyclists participating in the two events, which raise money and awareness for the more than 60 million Americans living with arthritis.

Jorgensen, who has more than 50 international podium finishes and lives with arthritis herself, will serve as a National Mission Ambassador for both tours.

“Fuel Goods’ partnership with the Arthritis Foundation Cycling Experience will empower riders to perform their best while supporting a mission that matters deeply,” Jorgensen said. “As someone who lives with arthritis, I know firsthand how movement and community can transform both physical and emotional well-being.”

As part of the partnership, Fuel Goods will become the Official Fueling Partner for the Arthritis Foundation Cycling Experience. Riders will receive annual discounts, access to on-site product sampling, branded activations at both events, and a portion of product sales will support the Arthritis Foundation. A co-branded online store will also launch, with a percentage of purchases contributing to arthritis research and advocacy.

The organizations will also collaborate on educational content, email outreach and coordinated social media campaigns throughout the year.

“Cycling events like the Carolina Hills Classic and California Coast Classic go beyond sport,” said Shannon Marang Cox, national senior director for the Arthritis Foundation Cycling Experience. “They build communities of resilience and hope. Partnering with Fuel Goods helps every participant feel equipped, energized and inspired to contribute to something larger than themselves.”

The California Coast Classic, entering its 26th year, is an eight-day, 525-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Both events are e-bike friendly and open to riders of all experience levels.
