ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW.com) – An online beer festival organized by Asheville Media Group and its radio stations — 105.9 The Mountain, 98.1 The River, Mix 96.5 and 105.5 The Outlaw — is offering discounted beer deals aimed at supporting local breweries and beer‑focused businesses during a traditionally slower time of year for Asheville’s hospitality industry.

The Online Beer Festival allows customers to purchase certificates at a reduced rate —$25 for $50 in spending power — that can later be redeemed directly with participating businesses. Organizers say the model is designed to benefit both consumers and local businesses by encouraging advance purchases while giving participants flexibility on when to visit.

Participating businesses include Hi‑Wire Brewing, The Bier Garden, Sovereign Remedies, Appalachian Beer Spa and River Arts District Brewing Company, representing a cross‑section of Asheville’s craft beer scene that ranges from traditional breweries to beer‑centric experiences.

For customers, the appeal lies in both savings and convenience. Certificates are purchased online and can be redeemed at a later date, allowing participants to plan visits around their own schedules rather than attending a single in‑person event.

For local businesses, the advance sales provide immediate revenue during a period that can see reduced foot traffic following the holiday season and before spring tourism picks up. While certificates may be redeemed weeks or months later, organizers say the upfront spending helps businesses manage seasonal fluctuations common in Asheville’s tourism‑driven economy.

The festival also highlights the broader beer economy in Asheville, which extends beyond breweries alone. Some participating locations offer curated tap lists, food pairings, wellness‑focused experiences or non‑alcoholic options, reflecting how beer culture in the region intersects with hospitality and tourism.

The Online Beer Festival deals are available through Sunday, February 15, with certificates for each of the festival participants offered while supplies last. A full list of participating businesses and details on available deals can be found at 1059TheMountain.com.
